The SOPRANO project was featured in a workshop at the annual European Robotics Forum 2025 held in Stuttgart, Germany on 25-27 March. Project partner PROFACTOR co-organised the workshop titled "Re-manufacturing and recycling: are robots the way to a sustainable future?" that addressed SOPRANO topics related to ways to improve the autonomy and flexibility required by the evaluation, disassembly, and sorting for recycling and remanufacturing, along with previewing the the latest innovations in the robotised disassembly/recycling of electric vehicle batteries, consumer electronics, metal industry, and ship recycling.
The SOPRANO project includes Centre Richerche Fiat of the multi-national Stellantis automotive group, which is providing requirements and industrial evaluations of the new project technologies to address multi-human multi-robot systems for automotive disassembly for recycling. The workshop was organised as a cross-collaboration amongst multiple EU funded projects.
