SOPRANO project launches with Geneva kick-off meeting 12-13 October

The SOPRANO consortium partners came together for the first full project meeting on 12-13 October hosted by the The Open Group in Geneva. Each of the research and development partners introduced the technologies they bring to the project for developing advanced robotics methods, tools, and techniques for multi-robot systems capable of supporting human-robot teaming. In addition, the three industrial Use Case partners described their robotics systems addressing automotive manufacturing, building construction and agri-foods production and the types of multi-human multi-robot innovations they expect to provide substantial improvements in efficiency, costs, reliability and safety of workers.

The meeting also addressed the planning of the first deliverables focused on analysing the industrial applications and use cases for the advanced multi-human multi-robot design, development and testing technologies that will be developed in the project, along with the detailed industrial and technology requirements for each of the technology components that will comprise the SOPRANO open source solution that will be made available later in the project.
